Aims of the course
This workshop will provide training in the diagnosis of ADHD. Following the course, participants should be able to screen for and diagnose ADHDm and distinguish ADHD from other common mental health disorders.
Topics Include:
How to properly diagnose ADHD
Use of Diagnostic interviews (CAADID and DIVA) for disgnosing ADHD
Differentiating ADHD in adults from other common mental health disorders.
Who should attend?
This workshop is aimed at professionals working within adult mental health and specialist services such as forensic and addiction psychiatry. This is relelvant to psychiatrists at all stages of training but also other members of the mental health team including nurses and psychologists.
Study Methods
A combination of presentations, interactive traiing , group work and discussion.
Registration Fees
£345 per delegate per workshop. A £50 discount will be offered if delegates register for both workshops (ie £295 per course)

Accreditation
The course content has been independently certified as conforming to accepted CPD guidelines. Delegates must register at the start and close of each workshop to be awarded a certificate of attendance.
Drug Treatment of ADHD

Aims of the course
The workshop will provide training in pharmacological treatments for ADHD. FOllowing the course participants should be able to initiate and optimise treatments for ADHD.
Topics Include:
What drugs can be used to treat ADHD
Side effects, adverse effects and drug interactions
Initiation and tittration of drug treatments to provide optimal control of ADHD symptoms
Recognising and monitoring the symptom response and long term outcomes
Psychoeducation related to the pharmacological treatment of ADHD in adults.
Who should attend?
This workshop is aimed at professionals working within adult mental health and specialist services such as forensic and addiction psychiatry. This is relevant to psychiatrists at all stages of training but also other members of the mental health team (including GP's) who are involved in evaluating treatment outcomes and prescribing medication.
