Dr Amol Vaze
Dr Amol Vaze is a General Adult Psychiatrist with a special interest in Adults with ADHD and the co-occurrence of ADHD with other mental illnesses like Bipolar Affective Disorder, Personality disorder, Anxiety disorders etc. He is currently working as Community Psychiatrist in Leicestershire and has been a consultant for about 10 years. In addition to clinical work he also has special interest in medico-legal work, and a passion in research and teaching and has conducted many local, regional, national and international teaching sessions and seminars in Adult ADHD. He has participated in international research studies and published several research papers in popular scientific journals in his areas of interest. He works in the Leicester Adult ADHD service and has been active in data analysis, auditing the service and putting a business case which resulted in increase in funding for the service. He set up the first Adult Psychiatry Research forum in Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust which still continues to be an active forum for engagement between senior and junior researchers.
In addition to the above activities, he is in the process of setting up a support group locally and is in the process of designing a user friendly website for Adults with ADHD.
